Job summary

Southern Housing's Green Meadows team is seeking a Care & Support Worker to provide personalised care and support across housing schemes, extra care and community services on the Island. The role focuses on dignity, choice and independence for adults with varied needs, including evenings and on‑call duties.

No prior experience needed; full training is provided and an Enhanced DBS check is required to start.

Qualifications

• Caring, empathetic approach and ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
• Ability to deliver care in line with individual care plans.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in emergencies and challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised care and support in line with individual care plans.
• Help people to live as independently as possible, promoting dignity, choice and inclusion.
• Support people in their homes, supported housing schemes and extra care services across the Island.
• Support people with wellbeing, safety and daily living.
• Carry out moving and handling tasks.
• Work evenings and weekends, including sleep‑ins and on‑call rotas, where required.
• Respond calmly to emergencies.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns.
• Keep accurate records and reports.
