Job description

About The Role

We're looking for caring, positive people to join our team at Green Meadows for 35 hours per week and help us provide personalised, high-quality support to the residents and individuals who use our services. You'll be working with a diverse group of people, including older adults, individuals with learning disabilities or autism, people with mental health needs and those with more complex support requirements.

As a Care & Support Worker, you'll be part of a supportive team delivering care across our supported housing schemes, extra care services and within the local community. You'll provide care and support in line with individual care plans, helping people to live as independently as possible while promoting dignity, choice and inclusion.

This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility. You'll be expected to work evenings and weekends where required and may undertake sleep in duties or take part in an on-call rota. The role also involves physically demanding tasks, including moving and handling, and responding calmly in emergency situations.

Our CQC registered office is in Newport, but your role will take you across the Island, supporting people in their homes and in our schemes, including Freshwater, Ryde and the Bay area.

About you

You're compassionate, patient and committed to making a positive difference to people's lives. You're comfortable working in a CQC regulated care environment and understand the importance of safeguarding, dignity and person-centred support.

  • A caring and empathetic approach, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships
  • The ability to deliver care and support in line with individual care plans, promoting independence, choice and inclusion
  • An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, with confidence following procedures and reporting concerns
  • The ability to remain calm and professional in emergencies and challenging situations
  • A commitment to equality, dignity and anti-discriminatory practice
  • The physical ability to undertake moving and handling tasks
  • Basic IT skills to maintain accurate records and reports
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, sleep in duties and on call rotas
Qualifications & development:
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English
  • Willingness to work towards an NVQ Level 2 in Care (or equivalent)
  • No previous experience is required - full training and support will be provided.

Successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

About our services

You'll be part of our Care & Support service, delivering CQC regulated, person centred care to people with a range of support needs.

The service focuses on helping people live independently, achieve their goals and remain active within their communities. We support individuals with their wellbeing, safety and daily living, tailoring our approach to meet each person's unique needs.

Working as part of a supportive team, you'll help deliver care that promotes dignity, choice and inclusion, ensuring people feel safe, supported and empowered in their daily lives.

Benefits in working with us

As a trusting and competitive provider of care and support services on the Island, we can provide you with paid travel time, generous mileage and holiday allowance, paid DBS and training as well as health benefits package. And if you're interested in career progression, then we are the employer for you!

  • The ability to buy extra leave and discount cards
  • Flexible working hours - covering weekdays, evening & weekends
  • Employee referral scheme
  • Cash claim-back on medical treatments
  • Full training provided at no additional cost
  • Additional payment for sleep-in duties, where applicable
  • Discounted rates on a cycle scheme, personal medical plans, life assurance, give as you earn, critical illness and travel insurance
