Job summary

Southern Housing seeks a dedicated Care & Support Worker to deliver personalised care across Island schemes, including Ryde. The role covers evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and on-call duties, with full training provided.

You will work in a team to support older adults, people with learning disabilities, and those with mental health needs, following care plans and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English.
• Ability to deliver care with dignity and respect.
• Understanding safeguarding procedures and reporting concerns.
• Ability to stay calm in emergencies and challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised care and support in line with individual care plans.
• Promote independence, choice, dignity and inclusion.
• Support people in their homes, schemes and across the Island, including Ryde.
• Work evenings and weekends where required.
• Undertake sleep-in duties or participate in an on-call rota.
• Carry out moving and handling and respond calmly in emergencies.
• Safeguard people and maintain accurate records and reports.
• Work as part of a supportive team.
