A prominent transportation company is seeking a Community Steward based in Wellingborough. This role involves engaging with the community, assessing public enquiries, and participating in emergency responses. The ideal candidate will have experience in highways maintenance, relevant qualifications, and strong communication skills. Full-time position with a salary ranging from £34,909 to £37,307 per year, plus benefits.
We're looking for a Community Steward to join our Highways team based in Wellingborough. In this role you will be the eyes and ears of the community, representing North Northamptonshire Council and Kier while engaging with customers and stakeholders to the highest standards. Due to the nature of this position a full driving licence is essential.

Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire - site based 5 days per week
Contract: Permanent, Full time 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £34,909.18 - £37,307.17 per year + company van + benefits
As a Community Steward, you will work as part of the maintenance team, collaborating closely with the Operational Team and the Network Intelligence Operations Centre (NIOC). Your primary responsibility will be to assess and respond to public enquiries in line with KPI requirements, including emergency situations. You will categorise defects while considering the needs of all highway users, applying sound judgment to evaluate risks and potential consequences in a practical and reasonable manner.
