Location and Contract

Location: District Nurse Teams South East Locality – Wallingford Community Hospital, Reading Road, Wallingford, OX10 9DU.
Contract: Permanent.
Working pattern: Full time.

Job Responsibilities

Our friendly teams are passionate about community nursing and relish the opportunity to use their skills, experience and knowledge to provide nursing care in people's own homes. You will be autonomous, delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care, solving problems and working creatively in varied clinical situations. The District Nursing service operates 7 days a week, core hours 08:00‑18:30, with flexible shift patterns.

Qualifications
  • Registered General Nurse (adult) – Essential.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent – Essential.
  • NMC Mentor qualification – Desirable.>
  • Prescribing qualification – Desirable.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Knowledge around long‑term conditions and their management – Essential.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development – Essential.
  • Ability to supervise and support a range of individuals, including team members and carers – Essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to plan and organise own and others' work – Essential.
  • Previous experience of change implementation – Desirable.
  • Previous Community Services experience – Desirable.
Technical Expertise
  • Understanding of local and national issues influencing delivery and development of health care – Essential.
  • Knowledge and understanding of evidence‑based care – Essential.
  • Understanding of Clinical Governance requirements – Essential.
  • European Computer Driving Licence or equivalent – Desirable.
