RES Community Development Worker (Digital Skills Tutor)

Hours; Part time (12hrs per week)

Duration; Temp until 30 July 2026

Salary; £19.62 to £20.59 per hour + Holiday Pay

Location; Rotherham College, Rotherham (may be required to work at other college campuses as/when required)

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and professional digital skills tutor who will be responsible for delivering digital literacy at a variety of levels within our community learning and employability provision, in line with funding requirements. The successful candidate will support the coordination of a range of activities throughout the academic year.

You will be committed to providing an excellent customer service to both internal and external clients, whilst producing a high level of accuracy, excellent organisational skills and a flexible approach to work.

Through a proactive, enthusiastic and customer focused approach you will help the College achieve its mission to provide digital skills for the future of our students and community, through outstanding teaching and learning. Your work will ultimately lead to increased enrolment numbers, highly accurate data, meeting funding requirements plus positive development of the College reputation.

Responsibilities

You will...

You will have experience in working in customer focused and community development/ employability role, preferably in a Further Education environment.

Qualifications

You must be able to communicate well with others and those in your team. You should be organised, with experience of a wide variety of IT packages, including Microsoft and Google. You must have a proactive approach and good customer service skills.

You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths or be willing to work towards.

Department Info

The Community Development Worker is a key part of the College's Community Learning Team, supporting both learners and staff throughout the academic year. This role is extremely important in assisting the Community team to achieve its goals which link into the College's mission.
