A leading financial institution is seeking a Communications Risk Manager to oversee the governance of their Communications Risk Policy. This pivotal role involves collaborating with senior stakeholders to ensure effective risk management while delivering impactful communication strategies. The ideal candidate should possess significant experience in risk governance, strong attention to detail, and excellent stakeholder management skills. The position offers hybrid working options, located in Swindon, Bournemouth, or London, with a 12-month fixed term contract.
We're offering an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to support the Group Customer & Communications (GCC) function in managing the embedding of the Communications Risk Policy across the Nationwide Group. This is a pivotal role as we continue our journey following Nationwide's integration with Virgin Money in 2024.
As a Communications Risk Manager you'll be part of a great team, responsible for providing end to end risk governance within GCC. You will play a key role in ensuring that our communications deliver maximum impact for customers while meeting robust risk and governance standards. You'll work closely with colleagues across Virgin Money and the wider organisation to embed policy, standards, controls and reporting frameworks. You'll have experience dealing with senior stakeholders, prioritising multiple deliverables and advising on matters related to risk, policy and process governance.
This role sits in GCC Risk, which is responsible for enabling the function to sustainably achieve its priorities and growing risk capability.

The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28 and 35 hours.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon, Bournemouth or London office.

You'll be helping to implement an effective model for governing Nationwide's Communication Risk Policy and embedding the standards and controls. You'll also be designing and delivering regular, succinct and meaningful risk reporting to allow Accountable Executives to understand and manage their communication risks and controls effectively.
In support of this you'll help the Head of Risk understand and monitor the critical control improvement plans and issue management profile supporting them in ensuring committed actions are prioritised and delivered on time and to the right level of quality.
