Job description

Our client is a prominent environmental company who offer a variety of HVAC and water treatment services to clients across the UK. They are now looking for an experienced and hard‑working Commissioning Engineer based in and around the Tyne and Wear area. The successful candidate will have experience carrying out validations and balancing air and water systems on a variety of contract types with experience working on hospital sites. Previous experience validating critical ventilation systems in line with HTM guidelines will also be essential. Applications from Newcastle‑upon‑Tyne, Durham, South Shields, Sunderland and the surrounding areas will be considered.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Must have experience inspecting and balancing air and water systems
  • Must have experience carrying out validations on air and water systems
  • Previous experience working on critical ventilation systems is essential
  • Proven ability to analyse schematic drawings and survey reports in order to commission system correctly
  • Must have a good water treatment, chemical, technical and maintenance background
  • Must be fully conversant in relevant health and safety and compliance legislation specifically HTM-0301 guidelines
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Competent in using the Microsoft office package
  • A good working knowledge of the water industry
  • Experience working in a water treatment commissioning role within the water treatment industry essential
Responsibilities within the Role
  • Carrying out commissioning duties on air and water systems, including balancing, inspection and validations
  • Calibrating equipment to accurately balance water systems
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and company standards
  • Carry out service work strictly in-keeping with client’s specifications
  • Conduct training of staff when required
  • Inspecting project installs when required
  • Produce reports and prepare quotations
  • Undertaking some water treatment duties to suit business needs
  • Maintaining a professional working relationship with the company’s clients
