Job summary

Parkdean Resorts is hiring a Commis Chef to join our busy kitchen across our UK locations. You’ll contribute to creating dishes guests love while upholding high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.

In a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment you’ll handle prep, stock and temperature checks, support portion control and help minimise waste. Flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays are required; Food Hygiene Level 2 is preferred, and safeguarding checks may apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume food preparation and cooking (preferred but not essential)
• The ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
• A passion for producing great food and delivering unforgettable guest experiences
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays

Responsibilities

• Preparing and presenting dishes to company specifications, maintaining excellent standards of cookery and service.
• Keeping your section and the wider kitchen clean, tidy, and hygienic throughout service.
• Checking and recording food temperatures accurately, following company processes.
• Completing food prep before and during service, and restocking as needed.
• Supporting portion control and minimising food waste to help maximise profit.
• Receiving, checking, and storing deliveries safely, following stock rotation and food safety guidelines.
• Communicating clearly and professionally with the whole kitchen team to support a positive working environment.
• Following all health & safety procedures including allergen policies, hygiene standards, correct equipment use, and incident reporting.
• Completing deep-clean tasks as directed by the Head Chef.
