Job summary

Parkdean Resorts in the UK is seeking a Commis Chef to join our busy kitchen team. If you’re passionate about food and eager to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment, this hands-on role offers growth opportunities and support.

You will assist with cooking, prep, stock handling and hygiene, ensuring guest experiences are consistently excellent. Prior experience helps, but a Food Hygiene Level 2 is desirable. Shifts include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume food preparation and cooking (preferred but not essential).
• Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Passion for producing great food and guest experiences.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present dishes to company specifications while maintaining high standards.
• Keep the kitchen area clean, tidy and hygienic throughout service.
• Check and record food temperatures following company processes.
• Complete food prep before and during service and restock as needed.
• Assist with portion control and minimising food waste.
• Receive, check and store deliveries with proper stock rotation.
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen team to support a positive environment.
• Follow health and safety and allergen procedures and incident reporting.
• Complete deep-clean tasks as directed by the Head Chef.
