Job summary

The Grand Hotel Birmingham Limited is seeking a Commis Chef to join its busy kitchen, learning from experienced chefs and rotating through sections to build skills. This hands-on role supports senior chefs and contributes to high service standards in a fast-paced environment.

The position is full-time with day, evening, and weekend shifts; the hotel offers development opportunities and a strong team culture, alongside employee benefits and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen environment is a plus, however this is not essential.
• A genuine passion for food and the ambition to progress in your career.
• Food hygiene knowledge – a food hygiene certificate is desirable.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work a shift pattern that includes evenings and weekends.

As a Commis Chef at The Grand Hotel Birmingham you’ll be part of a fast-moving kitchen team, preparing fresh dishes for guests and building the skills to take your career forward. It’s a hands‑on role where you’ll support senior chefs, rotate across different sections, and play your part in delivering high standards every day.
