Job summary

Novotel Birmingham Centre is seeking a dedicated Commis Chef to join the busy city-centre kitchen. You will support food preparation, cooking and presentation across the restaurant, bar and events operation in a fast-paced environment.

We welcome applicants with a genuine passion for food and hospitality; previous kitchen experience or a catering qualification is advantageous, and a positive team-oriented attitude is essential.

Job Description

Join Novotel Birmingham Centre as a Commis Chef and develop your culinary career in a busy city-centre hotel. This full-time role offers £12.73 per hour, excellent employee benefits and opportunities to grow within a supportive kitchen team.

We're looking for a reliable Commis Chef to support the preparation, cooking and presentation of food across our restaurant, bar and events operation.

Located on Broad Street in Birmingham city centre, Novotel Birmingham Centre is a busy hotel serving business travellers, conference delegates, event attendees and leisure guests throughout the year.

The Role

Working alongside experienced chefs, you'll help deliver high-quality food while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness and organisation.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Assisting with food preparation and service
• Preparing dishes in line with quality standards
• Maintaining excellent standards of hygiene and food safety
• Supporting stock rotation and waste control procedures
• Working collaboratively within the kitchen team
• Helping deliver smooth service during busy periods and events

About You

We're looking for someone with a genuine passion for food and hospitality.

Previous kitchen experience or a catering qualification would be advantageous, but just as important is a positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
