Job summary

The Grand Hotel Birmingham Limited is seeking a friendly and professional hospitality team member for Isaacs and related outlets. You will contribute to a welcoming guest experience, assist across service areas, and help drive sales while maintaining high standards of hospitality in a vibrant city centre setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote a welcoming and professional image to guests and provide assistance as needed.
• Be knowledgeable on the menus and able to answer questions and make recommendations.
• Follow all steps of service with a guest-centric approach.
• Collaborate with bar, kitchen, hosts and hotel staff to ensure top service.
• Build rapport with guests in your section and maximise sales opportunities.
• Be flexible to jump into any role within the restaurant when required.

Open from breakfast to dinner, and every Sunday for our elevated Sunday Roast, Isaacs is a proud celebration of locally sourced ingredients and elegant simplicity. And when the sun goes down, Downstairs at The Grand takes over — a stylish speakeasy jazz bar with a full calendar of live music, craft cocktails, and cabaret charm.

From classic cocktails to bespoke milkshakes, our bartending team use their creativity, flair and passion to wow our guests. Our approach is laid back but attentive, we are inspired by the Big Apple, but 100% Brum.

We are offering flexible hours to suit your availability – shift patterns range through evenings and weekends from: 11:30 – 18:30 / 17:00 – 23:30 / 18:00 – 01:00

What the role will involve

• Promote an always welcome and professional image to the guest, and give full co-operation to any guest requiring assistance, forging great relationships
• To be knowledgeable on the menus, being able to answer any questions, and make recommendations
• To follow all steps of service, ensuring the focus remains guest-centric
• Work closely with the bar, kitchen, hosts and wider hotel staff to ensure best possible service
• To build a rapport with all guests in assigned section and use this to maximise sales opportunities
• Be flexible to jump into any roll within the restaurant when needed

• Promote a positive attitude and display the ability to ‘make things happen’ to achieve or exceed anticipated results

• Due to the nature of the work, the ideal candidate would be fully flexible in their approach to work and be able to work shift patterns through weekdays and weekends
