Senior Commercial Manager – Bridgwater, UK

Salary: from £75,000 per annum.

Hybrid role based at Satellite Delivery Centre with flexibility to work from home – you will be expected in the office at least three days a week.

As Senior Commercial Manager, you’ll take ownership of the commercial success of each contract assigned to you. From the very start, you will support the procurement process during contract creation, ensuring smooth pre‑award activities that lead to successful contract awards. Once contracts move into execution, you will be the commercial lead driving performance, managing risks, and steering contracts to successful completion.

Your focus will be on maximising operational and financial outcomes while safeguarding against commercial risks, all to support the safe and cost‑effective delivery of the NNB programme and broader business objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with procurement, delivery, and project teams.
  • Monitor contract performance using KPIs.
  • Resolve challenges pragmatically to keep the programme moving forward.
  • Administer scope, schedules, pricing, payments, variations, disputes, claims and supplier relationships in line with NNB procedures.
  • Drive progress and cost management through reporting, reviews and risk mitigation.
  • Maintain accurate commercial files and correspondence.
  • Lead contract closure, including commercial completion, performance assessment and capturing lessons learnt for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in commercial and contract management with a track record of successful outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen and decisive ability to make sound decisions on matters of significant financial value.
  • Solid understanding of contract performance, risk management, change/claim processes, and common Forms of Contract in the power construction industry.
  • Keen eye for detail.
