Job description
Overview

Choices College (formerly Project Choice) is a supported internship programme that aims to support young adults with learning difficulties, disabilities or autism to become employment ready. Due to the bespoke nature of this project we cannot accurately predict the number of hours of support the students will need, and the level of support may fluctuate across the academic year. For these reasons we cannot guarantee the number of hours offered. This is a 0 hour contract. These posts are therefore only suited to applicants that do not require guaranteed full time hours and are able to be flexible on the hours worked, and areas worked within a local geographical area. We are currently looking for candidates to support in the Sheffield area. Willingness to travel is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the day to day delivery of 1:1 support for a student with autism, learning disability, difficulty or Disability.
  • Delivering high quality TSI based learning.
  • Supporting mentors to support the student.
  • Interpreting sensitive information and supporting very anxious students to learn to work.
  • Assisting in the development of bespoke learning.
  • Reporting and communicating information effectively and efficiently to area manager and mentor.
  • Supporting the student 1:1 in a classroom environment.
