Overview

Job Title: College Mentor
Location: Chelmsford
Rate: £90 to £130 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day / Long-term, Part-time / Full-time

About the Role

GSL Education is looking for a dedicated College Mentor to join a supportive college setting in Chelmsford, where you’ll play a key role in helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer one-on-one and group mentoring to students.
• Help students set realistic goals and develop strategies to achieve them.
• Track student engagement and performance, providing regular feedback to staff and students.
• Work with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure a consistent and effective support network.
• Motivate students to stay on track and believe in their potential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational or mentoring capacity is essential.
• Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving abilities.
• A genuine passion for supporting student success.

This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
