Job summary

A large NHS trust in the West Midlands is seeking an administrator for the Clinical Nurse Specialist team within the Oncology & Hematology Directorate. You will provide full administrative support, which includes managing health records, ensuring confidentiality, and responding promptly to communications. Responsibilities

  • Undertake clerical duties related to Health Records.
  • Demonstrate initiative in organizing workload.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Respond to calls from CNS team offices promptly.
  • Input, update, and amend patient information accurately.
  • Scan documentation onto Clinical Web Portal.
  • Action administrative instructions from CNS team.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail in a timely manner.
Job description
Overview

An opportunity has arisen to join our administration team in this newly created post, providing full administrative support to the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team within the Oncology & Heamatology Directorate.

Responsibilities
  • To undertake various clerical duties associated with the custody and use of Health Records. This will include all administrative procedures and documentation associated with a patient's journey.
  • It is expected that staff will undertake administrative duties relating to any aspect of the service.
  • It is expected that staff will be able to demonstrate a significant level of initiative in organising their workload and in taking decisions and action within clearly defined limits. They will also ensure the requirements of role are done in a timely manner.
  • To ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times., To respond in an efficient, polite, and timely manner to all telephone calls received via the CNS team offices
  • To be responsible for the accurate in-put, up-date, and amendment of patient related information onto the computerised Patient Administration System (PAS), and any other computerised system used by the service
  • To accurately scan documentation onto CWP (Clinical Web Portal)
  • To action all administrative instructions initiated by CNS team
  • To be responsible for the timely processing of all incoming and outgoing mail.
