CNC Setter Operator - Milling

Permanent Position

£42,000 to £50,000 basic salary – plus overtime available

Immediate position

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Milling CNC Setter Operator looking to grow and develop their career. The role involves machining for Aviation, Automotive, Marine and high-spec engineering quality components. We are looking for someone at the top of the industry who wants to showcase their skills and capabilities.

Must have experience with setting and operating 5‑axis, 4‑axis or 3‑axis CNC milling machines. Part programming experience would also be beneficial.

Working hours: Monday to Friday – 7am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 7am to 1pm Friday.

Location: Based in Stone, Staffordshire; works in a high‑end manufacturing and production environment. Experienced in machining complex components from a variety of metals.

Responsibilities
  • Set and operate CNC machinery to produce designated components.
  • Set part datums using probing cycles and manual methods.
  • Enter and change tool lengths and datum positions as needed.
  • Ensure all equipment is calibrated and in good operating condition.
  • Work in the automotive, aviation and marine industries.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience with 5‑axis, 4‑axis or 3‑axis CNC machines.
  • Proficient in setting and operating CNC using Fanuc control.
  • Relevant experience within Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of control systems.
  • Ability to change tools, knowing appropriate speeds and feeds.
  • Ability to use a variety of in‑process gauging and inspection equipment.
  • Good communicator, written and verbal.
  • Experience machining complex components from a variety of metals.
  • Working background in manufacturing and production.
