Chelsea Magazine Compony (CMC) is undergoing a period of digital transformation and our magazine brands which include (The English Garden, The English Home, Britain, Scotland, Discover Britain) are looking for an outstanding Digital Content and Workflow Manager.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious, progressive‑thinking editorial lead who understands how to engage audiences, champion new initiatives through both product and market development. You must be adept at working in the lifestyle sector and work closely with multiple stakeholders to develop a digital content strategy that supports the commercial objectives of each brand. You will be responsible for all digital content and workflows across the magazine brands and the management of the digital editorial team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and motivate a team of digital writers, fostering a culture of informed decision‑making, creative problem‑solving, and operational excellence
  • Prioritisation management to direct resources and focus to the sites and activities that generate revenue and / or are most aligned with the wider business direction of travel. Lead with an agile approach, ensuring you can pivot resource and effort based on seasonal or commercial needs of the business
  • Direct the content strategy for CMC’s digital platforms (websites, social media, newsletters etc.), focusing on editorial output that drives audience growth, engagement, and conversion to paid subscriptions
  • Work in close collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Editors of each brand, across all platforms
  • Pioneer and embed optimum digital workflow and content management to maximise efficiency, speed of delivery, and the seamless publishing of content across all platforms, with Apple News and affiliates at the forefront
  • Continue to uphold rigorous editorial and technical standards for all digital content, guaranteeing accuracy, authority, and an unrivalled user experience that reflects the CMC’s brand excellence
  • Collaborate across editorial, product, and technology teams to identify and implement innovative tools and solutions that improve content production and enhance the digital subscriber journey
  • Oversee performance analysis of content, workflows, and production systems, leveraging data and insight to inform editorial decisions, optimise resource allocation, and drive continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • An experienced team manager who is able to foster a collaborative, effective and efficient team playing to the strengths and skills of individuals. A keen eye for ensuring best practice, high editorial standards and outputs in all areas.
  • Senior digital journalism background, with a deep knowledge of the women’s lifestyle and / or specialist brands market, and keen understanding of CMC products and our audience lifestyles
  • Workflow optimisation experience, with an emphasis on embedding content creation for off‑platform partners (eg. Apple News) into existing processes
  • Track record of online growth, expansion, adaptation and innovation
  • Deep understanding of affiliate partnerships to drive revenue growth and continually strive to be at the forefront of affiliate marketing
  • Experience in working with advertising teams and supporting client activity
  • Proven ability to create stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively
  • Deep knowledge of how best to present content for digital and social platforms, eg - what makes a good social headline, how to re‑shape existing content to get picked up on Apple News, how to structure articles to appeal to mobile readers.
  • Imagination and creativity. You must be brimming with brilliant lifestyle ideas and have the conviction to get them done.
  • You are obsessed with data, performance and analytics - and you use this to inform your decisions. Proven understanding of audience tools and key editorial metrics
  • Quick, accurate editing, and able to cope under pressure.
