Job summary

JD Gyms in Farnborough is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the day-to-day operation of the club. You will work closely with the General Manager to uphold high standards, lead a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants, and drive membership and commercial objectives.

You will coach and develop colleagues, deliver outstanding member service, manage safety checks, and ensure the club remains a welcoming, clean and profitable environment for members and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing colleagues within a leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environment.
• Proven ability to deliver excellent member service.
• Effective leadership with coaching and development capabilities.
• Must be qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
• Experience contributing to membership growth, commercial performance and team recruitment/management.
• Experience supporting operational delivery, people leadership and commercial performance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Health and Safety policies and company procedures.
• Maintain JD Gyms Brand Standard.
• Conduct safety checks daily, weekly and monthly; report defects.
• Recruit and manage a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants.
• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and communication.
• Drive membership, revenue and commercial targets; maximise secondary spending.
• Ensure cleanliness and facility standards across the gym.
• Oversee weekly banking and reduce wastage to maximise profit.
• Ensure consistent uniform standards and professional member interactions.
