Job summary

JD Gyms seeks an Assistant General Manager to help lead daily operations, support the General Manager, and uphold safety, cleanliness and service standards. You will manage a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants and drive member satisfaction and commercial performance.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will coach colleagues, deliver outstanding member experiences, and promote JD Gyms values across all interactions, ensuring a welcoming environment for members and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing colleagues within leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environments.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering excellent member service.
• Proven ability to coach, develop staff and drive performance.
• Must hold Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all policies and procedures in Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report defects to ensure the building and equipment are safe to use.
• Recruit and manage a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure operational coverage and daily targets.
• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.
• Support the achievement of membership, revenue and commercial targets.
• Drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.
• Ensure the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.
• Oversee weekly banking to minimise wastage and maximise profit.
• Ensure uniform standards are followed by all team members.
• Deliver outstanding member service through positive and professional interactions.
• Foster a positive, supportive and engaging working environment for colleagues.
• Represent JD Gyms values and standards in all interactions with members and colleagues.
