Job summary

Tecnica Ltd is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our MSP team supporting Dunfermline and Glasgow clients. You will resolve IT issues, maintain secure systems and develop skills across Microsoft 365, cloud and networking in a supportive environment.

The role offers training, career progression toward cloud, networking, and cybersecurity, plus opportunities for certifications and a performance bonus. Local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT or related discipline, or equivalent qualifications and experience.
• Good working knowledge of Windows desktop systems, hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting end users and resolving common technical issues.
• Basic understanding of networking including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi and VPNs.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams and common business applications.
• Excellent customer service and professional communication.
• Strong problem-solving, organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple support requests.

Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-line IT support remotely and at client sites.
• Install, configure and maintain computers, laptops, printers and business apps.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, Windows OS and connectivity issues.
• Support Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Teams and user accounts.
• Assist with Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID and Azure administration.
• Troubleshoot networking issues (IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi‑Fi, VPNs, switches, firewalls).
• Assist with monitoring, patches, backups, security and disaster recovery.
• Support virtualised environments: Hyper‑V and VMware; participate in ongoing training.
• Maintain accurate service desk tickets and customer records.
• Support IT projects: hardware upgrades, cloud migrations, infra improvements.
• Deliver excellent customer service and manage client expectations.
