Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Specialist Nurse to join the East Durham community Hub and Intervention team. The role will provide professional leadership for nurses in the designated specialty, lead on professional development, ensure the delivery of robust evidence‑based practice, and participate in establishing systems that embed clinical practice changes within the team and ensure they are sustainable.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional leadership for nurses in the designated specialty.
  • Lead on professional development and ensure delivery of evidence‑based practice.
  • Participate in establishing systems that assist in the development of clinical practice and ensure sustainable embedding within the team.
  • Ensure high professional standards of nursing practice in accordance with the NMC code of conduct and maintain accountability to the Nursing and Governance Directorate.
  • Plan, implement and participate in training and educational activities relevant to Practice Development for nurses in the designated specialty.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of high standards and continual improvement within the established governance framework.
  • Undertake ongoing audit of care and service delivery, underpinned by research and evidence‑based practice, and conduct research as part of the role.
  • Coordinate and deliver clinical supervision to support all nursing staff within the area of responsibility.
  • Work as a non‑medical prescriber within the NMC framework and Trust protocol, in accordance with qualification and competence to practice.
  • Provide nurse‑led diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Lead the delivery of clinical service, including supervision of clinicians and active participation in clinical decision‑making with other clinicians.
  • Provide clinical leadership to colleagues in assessment, treatment and management of patients.
