This is an exciting opportunity to join EMS Healthcare and play a key, hands-on role in the delivery of an important clinical research study focused on obesity, based on the Wirral. As a Research Nurse within EMS Healthcare’s established research infrastructure, you will work under the guidance of the Senior Research Nurse and be central to the successful delivery of the study.
This is a full-time, Monday to Friday, permanent position. This is a highly clinical, participant-facing role where you will be involved in the full participant journey, from screening and enrolment through to clinical assessments and ongoing follow-up, all delivered in line with the study protocol. You will help ensure the highest standards of clinical care, participant safety, data integrity, and compliance with Good Clinical Practice.
The role is ideally suited to an experienced Research Nurse looking to further develop their skills within a supportive, multidisciplinary research environment. You will be joining a team that is passionate about high-quality research and improving patient outcomes, and you will play a meaningful role in delivering research that can make a real difference in the field of obesity.
Main Duties
- Conduct study-specific clinical procedures and participant visitsin accordance withthe protocol, GCP, and EMS SOPs.
- Ensureaccurateandtimelycompletion of case report forms, source documentation, and trial logs.
- Support the set-up and smooth running of the clinical research site,maintaininga safe and organised environment.
- Perform vital signs checks, ECGs, phlebotomy, and other study-related assessments as trained andrequired.
- Provide information and support to study participants, ensuring their informed consent and safety throughout the study.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Research Nurse and wider site team to meet recruitment and retention targets.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of clinical samples and study materials.
- Attend site meetings, training sessions, and contribute to ongoing quality improvement processes.
- Maintain confidentiality anduphold data protection and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Escalate clinical or operational issues to the Senior Research Nurse or Clinical Research & Delivery Manager asappropriate.
Experience – Essential
- Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.
- Previousexperience working in clinical research or trial delivery.
- Confident performing standard nursing procedures in a research or outpatient setting.
- Understanding of ICH-GCP and the clinical research process.
- Strong communicationand interpersonal skills.
- Organised, methodical, and detail-oriented approach to documentation and care.
Experience – Preferable
- Experience working in community or mobile healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with studies involving obesity, metabolic health, or lifestyle interventions.
- Proficient with electronic data capture systems or clinical databases.

Other Requirements
