Overview

Permanent Clinical Psychologist – Neurodevelopmental Assessments. Salary: Up to £79,000 per annum (FTE). Contract: Permanent. Working Pattern: Full-time (part-time considered).

You will join a passionate and supportive multidisciplinary team committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people. The service specialises in evidence-based neurodevelopmental assessments for autism and ADHD, delivered through both NHS-funded and private pathways. As a permanent Clinical Psychologist, you will contribute to comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments, supporting timely and accurate diagnoses that lead to appropriate interventions and improved outcomes for families. Part-time opportunities may be available upon request.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting face-to-face structured observations as part of the neurodevelopmental assessment process
  • Conducting remote developmental history interviews with parents and carers via video consultation
  • Participating in collaborative multidisciplinary diagnostic discussions, with senior clinical support where required
  • Delivering clear, compassionate feedback to families
  • Producing accurate, high-quality clinical reports, including diagnostic formulations, supported by digital tools
  • Managing workload effectively to meet service KPIs
  • Providing clinical supervision (where applicable)
  • Contributing to additional responsibilities aligned with experience and service needs, including:
    • Clinical consultation
    • Quality assurance of assessment reports
    • Service development projects
  • Ability to travel to a clinic base for in-person assessments (hybrid working model)

Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist
  • Minimum of one year’s post-qualification experience conducting diagnostic assessments for autism and/or ADHD in children and young people
  • Strong understanding of differential diagnosis within neurodevelopmental presentations
  • In-depth knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for autism and ADHD
  • Training and experience using recognised diagnostic tools (e.g. ADOS-2, ADI-R)
  • Excellent time management and caseload organisation skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Highly developed written skills for producing clear, high-quality clinical reports
  • Strong communication skills with children, young people, and their families
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
