Clinical Lead ACP Shakespeare Walk-in Centre

Are you an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) with a passion for delivering exceptional care and an interest in leadership? Do you thrive in a role where you can influence service quality, mentor clinical teams, and drive continuous improvement?

With a strong clinical background in urgent and / or emergency care, the Clinical Lead ACP will play a pivotal role in delivering compassionate, high-quality, patient-centred care while helping shape a service built on excellence, safety, and continuous growth. Working alongside a supportive Operations Manager and senior clinical leaders, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients, colleagues, and the future of urgent care.

This is a dynamic role that blends hands‑on clinical practice (75%) with strategic leadership and service development (25%). You will guide and empower clinicians, champion best practice, and ensure the service remains compliant, innovative, and ready to exceed expectations.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Deliver outstanding clinical care through direct patient consultations and expert decision‑making.
  • Lead by example, supporting and supervising clinicians to uphold high standards and improving confidence across the team.
  • Drive service excellence, working closely with the Operations Manager on vision, strategy, quality performance, and compliance.
  • Strengthen governance and quality through audits, incident review, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and inspire the team, supporting recruitment, appraisals, clinical training, and staff development.
  • Champion CQC readiness, ensuring the service operates safely and effectively in line with regulatory standards.
  • Influence wider system transformation, working with commissioners, the ICB, and external partners to shape future models of urgent and emergency care.
What we are looking for?
Essential :
  • NMC registration with no restrictions
  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice
  • Independent / Non‑Medical Prescribing qualification
  • Advanced physical assessment & consultation skills (Level 7)
  • At least 1 year experience as an ACP following the completion of the MSc studies in Advance Practice
  • Experience in managing minor illness
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Excellent clinical governance, CQC and regulatory knowledge
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
Desirable :
  • Level 7 paediatric training
  • Minor injury qualification
  • Experience in triage / streaming in urgent care
  • Teaching, mentoring, or clinical supervision skills
