Job summary

A facilities management leader is seeking a part-time commercial/office cleaner in London. The successful candidate will maintain high cleanliness standards across various areas, supervise cleaning operations, and comply with health and safety regulations. This role requires strong experience in a similar position and proper health and safety certifications. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 16:30 to 21:00, at a rate of £16.23 per hour.

  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas including offices, kitchen, and meeting rooms.

  • Monitor stock of cleaning supplies and inform management of needs.

About The Role

Atlas Workplace Services have an opportunity for an experienced and reliable commercial/office cleaner to join our team in London.

  • Part time – 22.5 hours per week
  • Working week - Monday to Friday 16:30 to 21:00
  • Rate - £16.23 per hour

Effective delivery and supervision of site based cleaning operations to the standards expected by Atlas and our client, ensuring that all work is carried out safely and in accordance with the Site Cleaning Manual.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in all areas of site including (but not limited to) dusting/cleaning of all office surfaces.
  • Dusting/cleaning of all reception areas and meeting rooms.
  • Cleaning of the office kitchen area.
  • Cleaning of the microwaves.
  • Cleaning of the refrigerators.
  • Vacuuming all carpeted areas.
  • Mopping all hard floor surfaces.
  • The washing of all crockery and utensils including the filling and emptying of the dishwasher.
  • Spot cleaning of any stains on the carpet.
  • Ensuring that the cleaning cupboard remains clean and tidy.
  • Ensure all members of the on‑site cleaning team work safely in accordance with QSHE guidelines and COSHH policy.
  • Ensure all members of the on‑site cleaning team carry out their tasks in accordance with their daily job cards and to the required standard.
  • Monitor stock of products and condition of equipment informing your Line Manager/Supervisor of any products/equipment that requires replenishing/replacing.
  • Inform your Line Manager/Supervisor of any defects noticed on site.
  • Ensure that all work is carried safely in accordance with Company and Governmental policy.
  • Observe all Client and company statutory fire and health and safety regulations.
  • Accompany Atlas Management and Client on Monthly Cleaning Audits to ensure that standards are achieved.
People
  • Lead the team meeting their expectations and demonstrating fairness, equality and consistency at all times. Ensure all contractual and personnel training and development needs are addressed, staff comply with site rules, and project a professional image at all times particularly the wearing of uniform and engagement with customers.
  • Maintain the highest professional standards, ensuring focus on a quality approach towards Clients. Manage your time effectively, co-operate with all requests for service and carry out all reasonable management requests.
  • Ensure site based inductions and toolbox talks are completed for all new and transferred in staff. Staff are to receive toolbox talks on a regular basis to maintain knowledge and skills.

  • Working in the best interests of the Client and customers at all times. Forming positive relationships based upon trust, openness and honesty. Promote a professional, corporate and positive image, be helpful and courteous at all times.
Freedom to Act
  • Operate within agreed operational and/or management guidelines. Working within the limits of the Atlas Corporate Governance.
About You
Qualification, Certifications and Training
  • Accredited Health and Safety qualification e.g. IOSH Working Safely or equivalent.
Knowledge, Specific Role Skills and Experience
  • Experience in a similar role and a proven record in this type of work.
  • A basic knowledge of use, handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
  • A basic knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets.
