Cleaning Supervisor

Location: Uxbridge, West London
Salary: £30,700 per annum
Hours: Monday Friday, 10:00-18:30 or 11:00 (37.5 hours per week)
Contract: Permanent Full Time All Year Round

We are seeking an experienced Cleaning Supervisor to join their Estates and Facilities team. This is a hands‑on Cleaning Supervisor role for someone who leads from the front, sets high standards, and is comfortable managing people as well as rolling up their sleeves when needed.

This is not a desk-based role. The successful Cleaning Supervisor will be visible on site, supporting the cleaning team, enforcing standards, and ensuring the school environment is maintained to an exceptional level at all times.

The Role Cleaning Supervisor

As Cleaning Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead and supervise a team of cleaners during afternoon and evening shifts
  • Prepare daily and weekly cleaning schedules, allocating workloads fairly
  • Monitor cleaning standards and ensure KPIs are consistently met
  • Work hands‑on alongside the team to maintain high standards
  • Manage rotas, sickness, holidays, and return‑to‑work processes
  • Conduct 1-to-1 meetings, appraisals, and performance management
  • Ensure COSHH, Health & Safety, and safeguarding procedures are followed
  • Monitor and control cleaning stock, chemicals, and equipment
  • Liaise with facilities and events teams to ensure smooth service delivery

This Cleaning Supervisor role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, clean, and well‑organised school environment.

About You Cleaning Supervisor

To be considered for this Cleaning Supervisor position, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Cleaning Supervisor or Cleaning Team Leader
  • Experience supervising cleaning staff in schools or similar large sites
  • Strong working knowledge of COSHH, manual handling, and H&S
  • Confidence leading people, setting standards, and addressing issues
  • A hands‑on approach with the ability to lead by example
  • Strong communication and basic IT skills
  • The right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)

Experience in a safeguarding-focused environment is highly desirable.
