Job summary

Sefton Council is seeking a part-time cleaner for our school site. The role is 15 hours per week, term-time only plus 2 weeks, with afternoon shifts from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

You will clean classrooms, shared areas, toilets, kitchens and staff facilities, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and follow safeguarding and health and safety policies. The appointment is permanent subject to probation and an enhanced DBS check.

We are seeking to appoint a cleaner, preferrably who has experience of cleaning in a school or commercial premises.

The successful candidate would be a motivated, committed and hard working person with a flexible approach to work and who will ensure high standards of cleanliness in our school, paying close attention to detail.

The role would be:

• To clean Classrooms, shared areas, toilets, kitchen and staff facilities
• To undertake cleaning tasks to a high standard
• To carry out deep cleaning taks as required
• To follow safeguarding and health and safety policies
• To report any maintenance issues or concerns

The contract is a permanent contract subject to satisfactory completion of a probationary period of 6 months.

Due to the nature of the work, this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. We are committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and young people. The appointment will be subject to excellent references and an enhanced DBS check.

Working hours will be 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.
