Gregory Distribution Ltd in Bridgwater is seeking a Class 1 Driver to join our busy logistics operation. You will operate curtain-side or flatbed trailers, delivering to client sites and upholding a high level of service.

This role requires a UK Class 1 CE licence, DCPC and Digital Tachograph Driver Card, and a customer-focused, flexible team player who can undertake night shifts and perform safety checks as part of a compliant operation.

Formación

• UK Class 1 CE Licence is required.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
• Tanker experience desirable but training will be provided.
• Customer service orientation is essential.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Confident, polite and a team player.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated.

Responsabilidades

• Operate curtain-side or flatbed trailers to collect and deliver customer products to a high professional standard.
• Ensure goods are loaded, secured and protected using straps, nets and load-securing devices.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks using company device, maintaining reliability.
• Undertake nights out as required, supporting operational needs.
• Maintain communication with transport team and provide progress updates.
• Participate in regular training and development to stay aligned with safety and industry standards.
• Demonstrate flexibility within the role.

Competitive Salary: £15.38 - £18.13 per hour, depending on days worked. PLUS and additional £2.75 per hour for any hours worked between 21:00 and 04:00 hours AND up to £5,200 per annum TAX FREE night out allowance.

Shift Hours: Sunday to Thursday, start times can vary.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

As a Class 1 Driver, You Will

• Operate curtain‑side or flatbed trailers to safely collect and deliver customer products, ensuring all journeys are completed to a high professional standard.
• Ensure all goods are loaded, secured, and protected using appropriate equipment such as straps, nets, and other load‑securing devices to prevent movement or damage during transit.
• Carry out comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company‑issued device, maintaining full compliance and always ensuring vehicle reliability.
• Undertake nights out as required, bringing variety to your weekly schedule while supporting operational needs.
• Maintain consistent communication with the transport team, providing updates on progress and ensuring customer expectations are met.
• Participate in regular training and development to stay aligned with industry standards, safety requirements, and best practice.
• Demonstrate flexibility within the role.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
• Tanker experience is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
