Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking a Class 1 Driver to join our compliant and expanding logistics team in the UK. You will operate curtain side trailers to deliver goods to retail locations and ensure loads are secured and delivered on time.

You will perform daily vehicle safety checks, stay connected with the transport team, and take part in ongoing training to uphold our high standards and customer commitments.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Confident, polite, and a team player.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Transport goods to retail locations using curtain side trailers.
• Load and secure goods with straps and nets to prevent movement.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks using the company phone.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport team to update progress.
• Attend regular training sessions to stay updated on industry standards.

About the Role:

As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

• Using curtain side trailers to transport goods to various retail locations.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.

Competitive Salary: £42,736 - £44,166 per annum, depending on hours worked.

Shift Hours: Monday to Friday, 48 hours per week. Start times approximately 18:00, but some flexibility required.
