Gregory Distribution Ltd in Bridgwater is seeking a professional and safety‑focused Class 1 Driver. You will be flexible across multiple contracts, handling tanker and curtain‑side loads and maintaining high compliance standards.

You will deliver bulk liquids to client sites, perform daily vehicle safety checks, provide excellent customer service, and work 5 on 5 off with start times between 17:00 and 18:00. The role offers DCPC training and a range of company benefits.

Qualifications

• Must hold UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
• Tanker experience desirable but training will be given.

Responsibilities

• Safely collect and deliver bulk liquid products to customers.
• Ensure loading/unloading procedures follow industry standards and site rules.
• Operate curtain-side or flatbed trailers to deliver products to clients.
• Secure loads using straps, nets and other equipment to prevent movement.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and maintain vehicle reliability.
• Provide excellent customer service face to face and over the phone.
• Communicate with transport team and manage customer expectations.

Job description

We are looking for a professional and safety‑focused Class 1 Driver to join our team in Bridgwater. In this role, you'll be flexible across multiple contracts, ensuring high standards are kept at all times and work is carried out to the highest compliance standards. This position will involve both Tanker and Curtain-side trailers depending on the needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely collect and deliver bulk liquid products to customers. Handling a variety of different liquid loads, including food-grade or regulated products.
• Ensure all loading and unloading procedures are followed in line with industry standards, site rules and product handling requirements.
• Operate curtain‑side or flatbed trailers to safely collect and deliver customer products, ensuring all journeys are completed to a high professional standard.
• Ensure all goods are loaded, secured, and protected using appropriate equipment such as straps, nets, and other load‑securing devices to prevent movement or damage during transit.
• Carry out comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company‑issued device, maintaining full compliance and always ensuring vehicle reliability.
• Provide excellent customer service face to face and over the phone, always acting as a professional representative of the business.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing updates and helping manage customer expectations.
• Participate in regular training and development to stay aligned with industry standards, safety requirements, and best practice.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
