Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is hiring a Class 1 Driver to operate from North Tawton and other depots across the UK. You will deliver curtain-sided loads, secure freight, and complete paperwork using a handheld PDA.

Responsibilities

• Operate as a Class 1 Driver from North Tawton, Cullompton and Ernesdale depots as required.
• Collect and deliver customer goods across the UK on a curtain-sided trailer.
• Ensure loads are secured using straps and comply with manual handling requirements.
• Use a handheld PDA to complete paperwork efficiently.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport team and customers.
• Work nights away as needed and maintain high service levels.
• Attend ongoing training to stay updated with industry standards.

About the Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

• Will be working out of North Tawton, Cullompton and Ernesettle depots as and when required.
• Take on the challenge of collecting and delivering customers' products throughout the UK on a curtain-sided trailer.
• Master the art of load security with ratchet straps and part manual handling, ensuring every delivery is safe and secure.
• Leverage a handheld PDA to complete paperwork seamlessly and efficiently.
• Keep in constant contact with the transport team, offering updates on your progress and ensuring our customers' expectations are consistently met.
• Experience the thrill of nights away, making each journey unique and fulfilling.
• Engage in regular training sessions to stay updated with the latest industry standards and best practices, continuously improving your skills.
