Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking a Class 1 Driver to join our expanding logistics team. The role involves week-long trips away from the depot, operating curtain-sided and refrigerated vehicles, and servicing multiple depot-based customers with professional standards.

We offer a competitive salary from £39,161 per annum based on 48 hours, with enhanced rates for weekends and night hours, plus a night-out allowance up to £5,200 per year and extensive training and benefit schemes.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience delivering loads to client sites is advantageous.
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Away from depot all week transporting a variety of load types.
• Carry out long-distance and pallet network trunking, multi-drop deliveries, and curtain-sided trailers.
• Provide transport services for multiple depot-based customers and meet handling and delivery requirements.
• Operate curtain-sided and refrigerated vehicles with loading, transport, and temperature control as needed.
• Complete thorough daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
• Stay in regular contact with the transport team to provide progress updates and support customer service.

About the Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

• Driver will be away from depot all week transporting a variety of load types.
• Carry out a variety of transport duties, including long-distance and pallet network trunking, multi-drop deliveries, and operating curtain-sided trailers, with flexibility to meet changing workloads.
• Provide transport services for multiple depot-based customers, ensuring their handling and delivery requirements are met professionally.
• Operate curtain-sided and refrigerated vehicles, ensuring correct loading, secure transport, and temperature control where needed.
• Complete thorough daily vehicle checks using the company mobile device and report any defects promptly.
• Stay in regular contact with the transport team to give progress updates, highlight delays or issues, and support effective customer service.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
