Overview

Civils Operative – Telecoms Sector

We’re looking for skilled Civils Operatives to join our teams working across the Telecoms sector. As part of a Civils Gang, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality infrastructure works, carrying out excavations, ducting, chamber builds, re-instatements, and installing street cabinets within the public highway. Safety, efficiency, and precision are at the heart of this role.

Responsibilities
  • Prioritise Health & Safety, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Undertake excavations, ducting, chamber installations, and re-instatements.
  • Complete daily paperwork including job sheets, risk assessments, plant sheets, and driver checks.
  • Carry out hazard identification and risk assessments before starting work.
  • Manage and look after company assets, plant, and vehicles assigned to you.
  • Follow client and council processes and procedures, ensuring full compliance.
  • Minimise wastage and support the wider team with ad-hoc duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Valid UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • NRSWA Streetworks Ticket (desirable).
  • Mini-digger (excavator) ticket (desirable).
  • CSCS card (desirable).
  • Previous experience in the utilities or civils industry, with excavation and reinstatement knowledge (desirable).
  • BT/Openreach accreditations (desirable).
  • Smart Awards PIA accreditations (desirable).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
