Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Civil / Structural Engineering Design Manager to lead design input from early concepts through delivery on major infrastructure projects. You will manage internal teams and external consultants to ensure buildable, compliant and innovative solutions that meet client and regulatory standards.

The role requires at least 5 years’ experience in design leadership, BIM knowledge, and a civil/structural engineering degree; Chartered status is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing design through the full project lifecycle.
• Chartered Engineer status preferred (ICE, IStructE or similar).
• Knowledge and experience of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data environments.
• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead design input on multi-disciplinary projects from concept to delivery.
• Manage external design consultants and contractors under project contracts.
• Oversee constructability reviews and design interfaces across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical disciplines.
• Coordinate with clients, Engineering Managers, Project Managers, Contractors and Consultants on issues, scope changes and risks.
• Drive innovative, practical, and sustainable engineering solutions that meet requirements.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations into engineering and design solutions.
