Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Manchester is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineering Design Manager to lead multi-disciplinary design input on critical national infrastructure projects from concept through delivery.

You will manage design interfaces, ensure constructability and BIM compliance, and work with clients, contractors and consultants to achieve performance and safety standards. A degree in engineering and Chartered status are preferred; 5+ years of experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing design through the full project lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of integrated design delivery and consultant performance.
• Knowledge of BIM and common data environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead design input on multi-disciplinary projects from concept to delivery.
• Manage external design consultants and contractors under contract.
• Ensure constructability, compliance, and value delivery.
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, and stakeholders on scope and risks.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations in designs.
• Coordinate across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical.
