The salary for this role is £12.40 per hour.

As a Christmas Customer Assistant, you'll be at the heart of the action, greeting customers with a smile, offering product and gift advice, and creating a memorable experience that leads to a happily ever after and keeps them coming back all year round.

This role is a great opportunity whether you’re just starting your career or have retail or customer service experience and want a fresh challenge. If you love helping people and making their day, this is the job for you. It is a temporary contract, with potential for a permanent role later depending on opportunities in your local area.

About the role

You will work in a Boots store and report to the Assistant or Store Manager. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Customer Interaction: You’ll offer thoughtful advice, recommend products and highlight offers to ensure everyone has an enjoyable shopping experience.
  • Till Operation: From wrapping purchases at the counter to supporting self-checkout, bring energy and efficiency to every transaction.
  • Stock Management: Keep shelves full so customers can find what they need during the busy season.
  • Store Presentation: Ensure the store looks its best.
  • Online order support: You may assist with deliveries, picking, and packing for online orders as needed.
What you’ll need to have

Full training is provided, but these are the essential skills or experience:

  • Available to work Bank Holidays including Black Friday week and weekend, Cyber Monday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day.
  • Customer Service Skills: Comfortable approaching customers and providing a personalised experience.
  • Operations Ready: Able to balance customer care with daily shopfloor and operational tasks.
  • Tech-Savvy: Ability to learn and use technology, including handheld devices, tills and self-checkouts.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset to help the team meet store goals and have fun.
  • Physical Stamina: On your feet, standing, walking and lifting.
  • Brand Ambassador: Enthusiasm for Boots ethos, products and services.
Desirable experience

We are recruiting Christmas Customer Advisors for our Manchester, Didsbury store.

Start date: from 11 September 2025. Shifts available between 8:00am and 6:00pm, including weekends.

Available shifts: Mon-Fri 8:00am-6:15pm; Sat 8:00am-5:45pm; Sun 10:30am-4:15pm. The advert may close once requirements are met.
