Job summary

A children's home in Holbeach is looking for a dedicated Children's Residential Support Worker. In this role, you will assist young people aged 8-18 facing Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), providing support and fostering independence. You will work full-time with a flexible shift pattern that includes sleep-ins. Candidates should ideally have experience with young people and must hold a full UK manual driver's licence. This position offers salary ranging from £28,558 to £32,986, with various benefits including a qualification program and company pension.

Overview

This is a FANTASTIC opportunity to join a supportive team at a recently revamped children's home in Holbeach. As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you'll play a key role by empowering and caring for young people (aged 8-18) facing Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

Salary: £28,558 - £32,986 (sleep allowance included)

Location: Holbeach, Lincolnshire

Hours: Full-Time

Contract: Permanent

Shift pattern: Flexible Shift Pattern with 2 sleep-ins a week

Responsibilities of a Children's Residential Support Worker
  • To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age.
  • To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
  • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment for young people.
  • Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
  • Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives, such as Psychologists.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker, or with Young People, is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
  • You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
  • You must be over the age of 21.
  • You must be able to commute to Holbeach.
