Job description

Must have experience of working in a Children's Home, not necessarily as a Registered Manager

Reporting Structure

Reports to: Service Manager Children's Resources

Direct Reports: Up to 6 staff

Indirect Reports: Up to 30 care staff plus a range of partners working in the service

Role Purpose

The Ofsted Registered Manager will provide a warm, safe, homely environment for children to live or stay, fully compliant with the Children's Home Regulations including the Quality Standards 2015 and the Children's Act 2004. They will ensure children receive high levels of support to help them aim high and achieve their goals.

The Manager will guide and support a team of staff and partners to meet the individual assessed needs of children, despite any challenges. They will stay informed of changing practices and issues at both national and local levels to ensure the service provides the best support, manages resources effectively, and handles complex issues and risks.

The Manager will liaise closely with various agencies, adopting a 'One Council' approach to support Hillingdon's residents. They will work with psychologists, CCG, police, therapists, YOS, education, and social workers regularly, ensuring well-chaired meetings and working groups to deliver effective services for children.

The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the service, including managing premises and staffing in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Children's Home Regulations, and LBH/CCG policies and procedures.
