This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Children in Care Team at Doncaster Council. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive outcomes for children and young people who are looked after by the local authority. Job Summary
  • Working within the statutory framework to deliver services to children and young people who are looked after.
  • Focusing on achieving permanence and stability for children, either through reunification, Special Guardianship Orders, or adoption.
  • Preparing and presenting reports for statutory reviews, court hearings, and planning meetings.
  • Collaborating with a wide range of professionals, including foster carers, schools, health services, and external agencies.
  • Holding a manageable and varied caseload, prioritising effective time management and decision making.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and their families to inform effective care planning.
  • Formulate, implement, and review personalised care plans for children, ensuring their voice is heard throughout the process.
  • Provide direct support and intervention to children, promoting their health, education, and emotional well‑being.
  • Manage complex cases, including those involving neglect, abuse, and significant life changes.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date case records on the designated social care database, adhering to all statutory requirements.
  • Participate in court proceedings by providing detailed evidence and professional recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with foster carers to support placement stability and address challenges.
  • Attend and contribute to regular supervision, team meetings, and training sessions.
