About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our Executive Leadership Team. This is a critical senior role, providing leadership across all aspects of finance and procurement to ensure the Group's long-term financial sustainability and success.

Based at our Camborne campus, you will work closely with the CEO and Board to shape and deliver the Group's financial strategy. You'll be responsible for overseeing financial planning, reporting, procurement and compliance, while leading high-performing teams with empathy, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. You'll also play a lead role in building effective partnerships with funding agencies, auditors, banks, the DFE and suppliers.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Group's long-term financial strategy and annual budgets.
  • Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, procurement, risk management, and statutory compliance.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to the Executive Team, Board, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure the effective operation of financial systems, controls, and processes.
  • Manage strategic financial relationships with banks, auditors, funding bodies, and key suppliers.
  • Lead and develop high-performing Finance and Procurement teams with empathy, kindness, and accountability.
  • Serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team contributing to broader organisational strategy and planning.
Skills and Experience

You will be an experienced senior finance professional with a proven track record of successful strategic leadership in a complex organisation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, procurement, and risk management at a senior level.

You'll be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent) with up-to-date CPD. Your ability to interpret funding rules, maximise income opportunities, and ensure financial compliance will be key. You will also have experience managing statutory and regulatory returns, and leading on financial audits and controls.

Your communication and leadership skills will be exceptional; capable of engaging effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including the Board. You'll be collaborative by nature, able to motivate and develop high-performing teams, and bring a strategic mindset to problem-solving and organisational improvement.
