A leading maritime organization in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Chief Engineer to maintain and manage vessel machinery and electrical systems. This unique opportunity involves overseeing maintenance schedules and ensuring the safety of maritime operations. The ideal candidate will possess a Chief Engineer Officer Certificate and have thorough knowledge of diesel-electric systems, along with strong IT skills. A generous benefits package is offered, with a stable work pattern of 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off.
We are seeking a dedicated, highly skilled Chief Engineer to join our team and take a leading role in maintaining all vessel machinery and electrical/technical systems. In this position, you will oversee the full management, maintenance, and technical operations of our lighthouses, buoys, and other maritime assets. You will also be responsible for supervising all maintenance and survey schedules, with a strong emphasis on the onboard planned preventative maintenance system.
There are certain degrees & certifications obtained throughout the work in this field, which can make a difference between you and other candidates, and this includes current & past experience. As line manager for the Engineering Department on board you are required to work successfully on projects, such as out of water special surveys and in water surveys, in close cooperation with shore side Marine Operations Department and the wider service of Trinity House.
