Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious news journalist to join our Asia desk, reporting on regulatory developments across key jurisdictions in Asia and reporting into the UK‑based managing editor for Asia.

Responsibilities
  • Research and write news stories on environmental regulation, policy development, public health, and the chemical industry.
  • Generate original, multi‑sourced news analysis articles in a professional newsroom environment.
  • Produce longer‑form articles for the “insight” section.
  • Build and maintain contacts within regulatory authorities, industry bodies, consultants, legal firms, and NGOs concerned with safe chemical management in the region.
  • Attend industry events, including travel to Asia for the annual Chemical Watch Regulatory Summit.
Qualifications
  • Substantial demonstrable experience in generating original news stories and high‑quality multi‑sourced analysis.
  • Experience reporting on environmental regulation, policy development, public health, or the chemical industry.
  • Experience covering Asian countries is an advantage.
  • Excellent writing skills and a drive to develop an understanding of regulatory agendas.
