Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support Chailey Clinical Services Reception Team.

This is a diverse role allowing you to develop a range of different skills and participate within a multidisciplinary team.

Chailey offers specialised care for individuals with Neurodisabilities and offers supports the Chailey Heritage Foundation School.

This is a Part Time Band 3 Role working 2 days a week Monday and Wednesday 08:30- 16:30.

You will work alongside other admin staff and reception team to provide an excellent customer service to our service users and families.

Overview

The main duty of this role is to be the first point of contact for all patients entering Chailey Clinical Services. You will be based on reception covering reception and administration tasks including but not exclusive to, dealing with patient information in a sensitive manner, handling in person telephone and email enquiries, booking of rooms for internal and external visitors, supporting the admin team with admin tasks and making sure excellent care is provided to all users and staff members.

Job responsibilities

a) Provide an administrative and clerical function to support the Outpatient team in respect of any requests to do with Health records; this can include Archiving and Subject Access Requests.

b) Comply with Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust and Chailey Clinical Services agreed policies and procedures.

c) To participate in annual reviews and regular Supervisions.

d) To ensure all Mandatory and Statutory training is up to date in line with Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust policy.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Educated to GSCE level or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook email
Skills and Knowledge
  • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with patients, NHS staff at all levels, and members of the public, both face-to-face and on the telephone
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with conflicting demands
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
Experience
  • Dealt directly with customers, patients and members of the public
  • Communicating effectively with a diverse range of people
  • Handling personally or commercially sensitive information
  • Experience working within the NHS or a similar healthcare setting
