JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am an autistic 8 year old girl living in the Grangetown area of Cardiff. I am non‑verbal, therefore, I find it difficult to communicate my needs but I use visuals to communicate. I wear ear defenders because I can’t tolerate loud noises and struggle in busy environments. I love outdoor play such as going to the park, riding a tricycle bike, soft play and swimming. I have no sense of danger so I need a personal assistant to keep me safe. I also need prompting with personal care tasks.

PURPOSE OF JOB

I am looking for a personal assistant to support me at home and keep me safe whenever out in the community.

PLACE OF WORK

In my home and out in the community.

HOURS OF WORK

4 hours during term time and 7 hours during school holidays.

RATE OF PAY

£14.80 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED
  • Support me in fun and stimulating activities.
  • Support me with personal care such as dressing, toileting, washing my hands etc.
  • Promote my independence and social interaction.
  • Foster positive communication with me.
  • Ensure my safety during activities and out in the community.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part‑time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
