The University of Suffolk Dental CIC in Ipswich is looking for experienced dental receptionists to join our team on a casual basis (to provide ad hoc cover for absences such as sickness and holiday). Daytime, evening, and weekend shifts are available.

The University of Suffolk Dental CIC represents a step‑change in dental care in Suffolk and North‑East Essex, and we are looking for an experienced Dental Receptionist to join our team.

We welcome applications from organised, adaptable, and friendly individuals who can remain calm and professional and help us to provide a high level of customer service in a fast‑paced environment.

Main duties of the job
  • Welcoming and receiving service users and their carers into the dental service
  • Dealing with telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries about the dental service in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Booking, rescheduling, and amending appointments for service users, which will include direct face‑to‑face and telephone contact
  • Offering regular updates to service users waiting and where appropriate, explaining any reason for the delay in being seen
  • Explaining NHS service user charges using professional judgement and empathy when there may be barriers to understanding
  • Providing advice and information to service users and or carers, ensuring that leaflets and all information presented is current
  • Collaborating with the dental team, senior management, and wider colleagues to maintain the effective running of the dental service
  • Administration duties including updating internal systems
