Job summary

A leading educational institution in Newtown is seeking a Technician in Carpentry & Joinery to provide technical support across the curriculum area. The role includes maintaining a safe workshop environment, preparing equipment, and supervising learners. Candidates must hold a Level 2 qualification in a relevant discipline and possess knowledge of health and safety requirements. This is a temporary position of 30 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Level 2 qualifications in both English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent).
• IT literacy to level 2.
• Relevant experience in operations and maintenance of machinery equipment.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
• Legal compliance checks and references including enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a practical working environment for teaching and learning.
• Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for use.
• Manage stock levels and provide accurate inventories of tools.
• Assist in supervising learners within the workshop.

Skills
