Part Time Caretaker Required for The Red Hall, Bourne

The Red Hall is an historic venue in Bourne that hosts a variety of events, including weddings and community gatherings.

We are seeking a reliable and responsible caretaker to handle opening and locking up duties for events.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the point of contact for hirers during an event.
  • Secure all doors, windows, and entry points after events.
  • Conduct a thorough check of the premises to ensure no attendees remain inside.
  • Set alarm systems and ensure all security measures are in place.
  • Perform a basic inspection to ensure there are no maintenance issues that need immediate attention.
  • Report any security or maintenance concerns to the management promptly.
  • Maintain a log of locking up activities and incidents.
Requirements
  • Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of Health & Safety – training provided if necessary.
  • Ability to work late hours and on weekends as required.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
Working Hours
  • Variable hours depending on event schedules, but primarily evenings and weekends, with approximately 5-10 events per month.
Compensation
  • The successful candidate will be paid a fee (currently £26) for each event with an uplift (currently an additional £13) where the locking up time is after 9pm.
