Job summary

A housing organization in Belfast is seeking a Domestic Assistant/Caretaker to maintain cleanliness in all communal areas and assist tenants and their visitors. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in a similar role. Responsibilities include cleaning, regular waste management, maintaining equipment, covering for absences, and providing support to tenants. This is a hands-on role offering a pay rate of £12.60 per hour, with location in the Titanic Quarter.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a similar role as Caretaker/Domestic Assistant in a paid or voluntary working environment.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning of the scheme including dusting and polishing fixtures and fittings.
• Waste bins to be emptied regularly and put out for collection.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and report faults.
• Cover duties of other Caretakers/Domestic Assistants in their absence.
• Help tenants and their visitors.

Job description

The Domestic Assistant/Caretaker will maintain the highest levels of cleanliness at our schemes will be responsible for the cleaning of all communal areas in the buildings and to act in a neighbourly and friendly fashion to tenants of the scheme and their visitors.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning of the scheme including dusting and polishing fixtures and fittings, cleaning of all communal areas of the scheme.
• Waste bins to be emptied regularly and all bins should be put out ready for collection on a weekly basis. These bins should also be brought back in after immediately after collection.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and in clean, working order and reporting any faults to the Scheme Coordinator/Housing Officer.
• Cover duties of other Caretakers / Domestic Assistants in the scheme in their absence or neighbouring schemes in the absence of Caretaker / Domestic Assistants based at that scheme.
• Help the tenants at the scheme and their visitors.

Skills and Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a similar role as Caretaker/Domestic Assistant in a paid or voluntary working environment.
